Russell Holden, a 1982 graduate of Malone, was a two year letterman in golf at the college and was an NAIA All-American in 1980, only the second ever Malone golf All-American at the time. Holden was named All-District in 1980, All Mid-Ohio Conference in 1980 and 1981 and Mid-Ohio Conference MVP in 1981. In addition, he was the Malone team captain and team MVP in 1981.
 
Holden has been a PGA Professional for 35 years and is currently the Founder and CEO of Caddy For A Cure, a non-profit assisting the wounded on the PGA TOUR. He was the part-time coach and caddy of two-time Masters Champion Bernhard Langer. Holden and his wife Colleen have three children. Son Brandon is a PGA Professional in the NY Met Section and former pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Son Austin, and daughter Kayla. Kayla will play golf for the University of Tennessee starting in 2020.
