Ken Hyland, a 1964 graduate of Lakeview High School and a 1969 Malone College graduate (History/Government/Health & P.E), is currently the head coach for golf at Malone. Having been inducted into the Malone Athletics Hall of Fame in 1986 as an athlete, he becomes the first two-time inductee, going in this time as a coach. Hyland became the College’s first-ever NAIA All-American in 1969 when he won the individual national title at the NAIA National Championships. 

Over his 34-year Malone coaching career, Hyland has compiled an impressive record of 2,305 wins, 653 losses, four ties and only two losing seasons for a 78% winning percentage. His teams have produced 55 First Team All-District/All-Region IX honorees, 22 NCCAA First Team All-Americans and eight NAIA First-Team All-Americans. Hyland has tallied 112 team tournament victories, 18 MOC/AMC Conference Championships, 20 District 22/Regional IX Championships, three NCCAA National Championships (’99, ’00, ’04) and an NAIA National Championship in 2000. 

Hyland coached the USA to a World Championship in the 1996 World University Games in Lausanne, Switzerland. Hyland earned a master's degree (Secondary Education) from the University of Akron in 1972 and is a retired teacher from Akron Springfield High School where he also coached boys golf for 15 years. 

He and his wife, Martha, reside in Louisville, Ohio. They have two children, Scott (32), who is married to Malone graduate Dawn (Crilow), and Barry (28). The Hylands also have one grandchild, Anderson Jay (two months).
