Phil Eades, a 1984 Malone graduate, had an outstanding soccer career at the college and held (at the time) the school records for most assists in a game and most assists in a season.

Eades was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and was named All-Mid-Ohio Conference and NAIA All-District 22 in each of his four seasons at Malone. He was selected All Ohio and All Mideast in his final three seasons and earned All NAIA Area VI status as a junior and senior.

As a senior, he earned three separate All-America distinctions which included NAIA First Team All- American, NSCAA All-American and McDonald’s All-American. He also received the Turner award that season as well.

Eades, who graduated from Malone with a degree in Math and Computer Science, is employed by the Smucker Company. He and his wife Beth, a 1982 Malone graduate, and their three children reside in Dalton, Ohio.
