Malone University Athletics

Finnestad, a 1982 Malone graduate, was a six-time All-American in track and cross country, including three times while he attended the University of Southwestern Michigan. He was named NJCAA All-American in cross county in 1978 and was the NJCAA 1500-meter National Champ in 1979.

At Malone, Finnestad was named All-American in cross county in 1980 and All-American in the 5,000 meters in 1981 and 1982. He was the national champion in 5,000 in 1981.

Finnestad graduated from Malone with a degree in business administration and now own Finnestad Financial Services. He and his wife, Koren, and their son, Jeremiah, reside in Morris, Illinois.
