Keith Spiva, a 1994 Malone graduate (Social Work), competed in track & field at Malone and was a four-year letterwinner for the Pioneers. A graduate of Warren Harding high school, Spiva went on to become arguably the best sprinter in the history of Malone College. At Malone, Spiva tallied a total of four NAIA national sprint crowns and six NAIA All-America honors, which is still the most track & field NAIA All-America accolades by any Malone athlete.

In 1989 as a freshman, he became Malone’s inaugural national sprint champion and only the fourth Pioneer national track & field national champion by winning the 200 meters in a time of 21.10 seconds at the NAIA outdoor national meet. He also placed second in the 100 meters (10.36 seconds) and had finished sixth, for All-America honors, in the 60-yard dash (6.39 seconds) at the NAIA indoor national event a few months earlier. The following year, he won three NAIA national crowns by capturing the indoor 60-yard dash (6.30 seconds), along with the outdoor 100 meters (10.38) and 200 meters (21.00).

Spiva is currently employed as a Unit Director for the Ohio Department of MRDD. He and his wife, Monica, reside in Canton, Ohio and they have six children.
