Malone University Athletics

Larch, a freshman pitcher/first baseman, tallied a pair of complete-game victories last week to help Malone open American Mideast Conference play with doubleheader sweeps of Mt. Vernon Nazarene University and Ursuline College.  She allowed just one run in each of her outings, both 9-1 run-rule victories that lasted just five innings apiece.  In addition to her strong pitching performances, Larch also contributed to Malone's 4-0 week with her bat, going 3-for-8 (.375) at the plate with a double, a stolen base, four runs scored, and one run batted in.
