Veldhuizen, a 6'4 forward, helped the Pioneer men's basketball team tally a 1-1 record last week by averaging 21 points and five rebounds per contest.
The sophomore from North Canton notched 17 points, three rebounds and two assists in just 21 minutes of a lop-sided 117-73 home win over Salem International (WV) University on Thursday. He then poured in a game-high 25 points and grabbed seven boards on Saturday in the Pioneers' regular-season finale, a hard-fought 78-72 road loss to Cedarville University.
On the week, Veldhuizen knocked down 17 of 26 (65.4%) shots from the field, four of five (80%) three-pointers and four of seven (57.1%) free throws.
Malone will begin Ohio Independent Championship (OIC) play at home on Tuesday with an opening-round playoff game against Urbana University.
