Simmers led the Pioneers to a 2-2 record over Christmas Break after averaging 14.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.25 assists per contest.

The senior from Anchorage, Alaska reached double figures in all four contests, highlighted by a 20-point effort on Dec. 19 as Malone opened its trip to Hawaii with a convincing 92-58 win at Chaminade Univ.  She then began the new year on Jan. 2 by registering 13 points, four rebounds and three assists in a 70-60 victory at Saginaw Valley State (MI) University. 

In addition, the 5-9 guard also led the Pioneers to a near upset in an exhibition vs. NCAA Division I Youngstown State University on Dec. 16, scoring 21 points and grabbing seven rebounds in Malone’s 80-73, double-overtime defeat.
