The Malone University women's golf team earned a second-place finish among 10 teams at the Pfeiffer College Invitational in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
After registering a round of 334 on Monday, the Pioneers trimmed six strokes off their score during Tuesday's final round, posting a 328 for a two-day total of 662.
Rhodes College secured the team title at 633 (313-320). Piedmont College was third at The Club at Hilton Head Lakes with a 675 (339-336).
Christina Williams finished second overall at 155 after carding rounds of 78 and 77. Williams was just two shots back of event medalist Emily Salamy from Rhodes.
For the second straight day, freshman
Madison Justice carded a season-best round. Justice followed up Monday's 83 with a score of 80 on Saturday, giving her a total of 163 which placed her eighth among 57 competitors.
Lauren Griggy also improved upon her day-one score, concluding the event in a tie for 13th at 166 (84-82).
Grace Bartlow tied for 25th at 178 (89-89).
Competing as an individual,
Samantha Tinsley tallied a 187 (91-96) and
Rachel Russell notched a 188 (92-96).
