Final Results
The Malone University women's golf team concluded play at the Great Midwest Fall Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The Pioneers took seventh among an 11-team field with a three-round total of 1055.
The Pioneers posted rounds of 347, 352 and 356 at Otter Creek Golf Club in Columbus, Indiana. The first 27 holes of the event were held on Monday followed by the final 27 holes on Tuesday.
The University of Findlay pulled away for a first-place finish with a total of 876. Tiffin University was second at 969 and Trevecca Nazarene University was third at 974.
Individually, sophomore
Christina Williams paced the Pioneers, placing ninth overall with a score of 234. After opening the event with a round of 80, Williams sliced two strokes off her score in each of the subsequent rounds, recording a 78 in the second and a 76 in the third.
Williams' final round total of 76 was just one shot off her career-best and only two shots off the Pioneers' 18-hole record.
Lauren Griggy was next for Malone as she tied for 32nd with a 266 (80-91-95). Freshmen
Grace Bartlow carded a total of 278 (96-91-91), freshman
Madison Justice posted a 281 (95-92-94) and
Kelli Carroll notched a 293 (92-105-96).

The Pioneers will compete at Ohio Dominican University's Cumberland Trail Classic on Saturday and Sunday while the Malone "B" team will take part in the Westminster Invitational on Saturday.
