TIFFIN, Ohio – The Kyle Ryman Memorial concluded on Tuesday, October 7 at Mohawk Golf Course with the Malone University men's golf team fifth on the team leaderboard. The Pioneers improved upon their scoring from round two for a final total of 886 (291-299-296). Tiffin came from 11 strokes behind entering the day to claim the team championship.
Junior
Jaxon Rinkes turned in an impressive performance to net a 13th-place finish. He shot a 2-under 70 on Tuesday with three birdies and just one bogey. Rinkes completed the tournament with an even-par 216 (74-72-70), had third-best score on par-4 holes and the third-most pars at the event.
Sophomore
Ryan Yoder gained four spots in the final round to finish in a tie for 22nd overall at 223 (70-80-73). He showed consistency in the third and finished the day by going 2-under in the final five holes for an even-par front nine. Just one stroke back of him with a 224 (73-75-76) was sophomore
Carter Miller. Miller started the round slow, but picked up steam as the day went on with three birdies in the final nine holes he played for a 1-under on the back nine.
Freshman
Easton Hamrick turned in a 228 (76-75-77) with 13 pars on Tuesday and nothing above a bogey. Freshman
Fletcher Cravens had one birdie en route to a 232 (74-77-71). Individual scorer freshman
Brady Johnson shot a 245 (82-75-88) but ended his day with a birdie on hole eight.
Up next for the men's golf team will be the Doc Spragg Fall Invite, hosted by the University of Findlay. Action at the Findlay Country Club will get underway on Monday, October 13.
