FLORENCE, Ind. - The Malone University men's golf team had a strong first day at the 2026 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship event at the Belterra Resort on Monday. The Pioneers are sixth as a team through two rounds at 599 (304-295) while the University of Findlay leads at 570 (288-282).

Jaxon Rinkes was tied for first at the conclusion of round one after he fired a 3-under 68. Through 36 holes, he is second overall at 141 (68-73), two strokes back of first place. After starting on hole 10, he went on a stretch from the back to the front starting at hole 17 with four birdies and an eagle. His score of 68 in round one ties a career-low round and he has the lowest scores on par-3 holes at 2-under.

Ryan Yoder recorded consecutive 75's for a two-round total of 150 on Monday. He is tied for 17th on the leaderboard and had four birdies.
Fletcher Cravens went 153 (79-74) in an up-and-down day that saw the freshman tally three birdies in each round.

Alfie Craker took four strokes off his round one score and ended the day at 160 (82-78). He had three birdies. The biggest adjustments came from
Camden Horning at 167 (94-73). The senior recovered from a tumultuous round one with four birdies in a 2-over second round.
