CANTON -- Malone University head volleyball coach Rafael Gonzalez recently announced six new additions to his 2023 recruiting class. 

Olivia Crabtree | Outside Hitter | Jonathan Alder High School (Plain City, Ohio)
Crabtree was a three-year letterwinner at Jonathan Alder High School, where she helped lead the Pioneers to a state final four appearance in 2020.  

As a senior she was named both First Team All-Conference and First Team All-District. She was also a member of the 2022 All-Star Team, winner of the 2021 Sportsmanship Award, and a 2021 Scholar Athlete Award winner. 

Crabtree plans to major in Criminology Restorative Justice / Forensics at Malone. 

Jaymes Gilbert | Middle Hitter / Blocker | Triway High School (Wooster, Ohio)
Gilbert was a four-year letterwinner at Triway High School, where she helped lead the Titans to three PAC championships, two district semifinal appearances, and one district championship match. 

Individually she was named All-PAC three times, including first team honors as a junior and senior.

Her junior season she led the state of Ohio in blocks, and was named Second-Team All-District. 

As a senior Gilbert she once again led the state in blocks, and picked up a First-Team All-District nod. 

The 2022 All-Star game selection finished her career with the Triway record for both career blocks and blocks in a season.

Mallory Meinen | Setter | Coventry High School (Akron, Ohio)
Meinen finished her high school career with 2,387 assists. 

She picked up Second-Team All-Conference honors as a freshman, and First-Team All-Conference honors as a sophomore, junior and senior. 

As a senior she was named the conference Player of the Year, and also earned First Team All-District honors. 

Meinen helped lead the Comets to four consecutive MAC titles, a district championship as a sophomore, and a regional finalist finish as a senior. 

She plans to major in Early Childhood Education at Malone. 

Brianne Salinas | Middle / Rightside | Lake Central High School (St. John, Indiana)
Salinas' highly decorated high school career included DAC All-Conference honors as a senior, 2021 Offensive Player of the Year honors, All-District in 2022, and a 2022 All-Star selection. 

As a senior she helped lead the Indians to a DAC championship as well as both section and regional titles. 

She plans to major in Nursing. 

Gabrielle Rodriguez | Outside | Hilltop High School (West Unity, Ohio)
Rodriguez, who finished her career with the most kills in Hilltop High School history, earned numerous individual accolades including: BBC honorable mention, First Team All-BBC (2x), BBC Player of the Year, D7 First Team, D7 Second  Team, and D7 Honorable Mention. 

The two-time Honorable Mention All-Ohio honoree plans to major in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Business Management. 

Nicole Custer | Middle Hitter | Garaway High School (Sugarcreek, Ohio)
The three-year letterwinner for the Pirates also earned Second Team All-IVC and Second Team All-District V honors during her career.
