CANTON, Ohio - Malone University is pleased to announce Lauren Allaway as the next head coach of the volleyball program, as announced by Director of Athletics Tanya Hockman. Allaway is the 13th head coach in program history.
 
"Lauren brings energy to the court and a familiarity with the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) as a former standout athlete," Hockman noted. "Most importantly, her passion to develop the whole person resonates deeply with our mission; we are confident she will excel in providing the Christ-centered and coach-driven experiences that define our athletic programs."
 
Allaway and her husband Riley currently reside in Kansas City, Missouri and are transitioning to northeast Ohio. Most recently, Allaway has collegiate head coaching experience at Spurgeon College for the 2024 season. At the club level, she was also head coach and program developer at Mustang Power and head coach at Northland Static Volleyball Club while in Missouri.
 
Allaway served as a graduate assistant coach at Ohio Christian University and has experience in the G-MAC as a student-athlete for the Cedarville University Yellow Jackets. She was a five-year member of the volleyball and track & field programs from 2017-22 and was a three-time First Team All-Conference honoree, two-time NCCAA All-American and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II Honorable Mention All-American.
 
"I am beyond grateful to Coach Hockman and the search committee for this opportunity to lead such a great group of young ladies in the next era of Malone University volleyball," Coach Allaway mentioned. "My husband and I are so excited to join the family here at Malone. The mission and Christian values of discipleship and ministry are at the core of everything - education, extracurricular, and athletics. We appreciate how the institution values the Word of God and chooses to not to just be 'Christian' in name, but use all platforms as an opportunity for ministry and spiritual growth. I am eager to get to know the team better and get to work as we prepare for the upcoming 2026 season!"
