Jaymes Gilbert of the Malone University volleyball team was announced as a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District recipient. It is the first time that the junior middle hitter has been named Academic All-District and she is majoring in integrated language arts.

In order to be eligible, a student must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or higher and at least a sophomore academically. On top of academic achievements, the CSC also has athletic nomination criteria for participation and high-level success in a given sport.

The Wooster, Ohio native had a breakout campaign in 2025 and she has won a variety of postseason awards. Gilbert was tabbed as Second Team All-Conference in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) as well as First Team All-Midwest Region in the NCCAA. Academically, she was an NCCAA Scholar-Athlete as well.

Gilbert led the Pioneers with 284.0 points, 222 kills, a .306 hitting percentage and 73.0 blocks throughout the season. The junior was also second on the team with 19 aces and 190 digs. Career-wise, Gilbert is on pace to have the best hitting percentage in the NCAA DII era, currently at .248 and her 233.0 blocks are fifth-most since 2012.
