Women’s Golf Tied For 11th Following Opening Round Of Perry Park Spring Fling

Christina Williams is tied for 13th overall with a round of 76.

Results

The Malone University women's golf team began competition at Lewis University's Perry Park Spring Fling in Perry Park, Kentucky on Saturday.

The Pioneers fired an opening-round score of 329 and are currently tied for 11th among an extremely competitive 18-team field.  The University of Missouri-St. Louis grabbed the day-one lead with a 305.  NCAA Division I Eastern Michigan University is second at 308 and DePauw University is third at 310.

Christina Williams paced the Pioneers and is tied for 13th overall with a score of 76.

Lauren Griggy was next for Malone with an 83.

Madison Justice and Kelli Carroll both carded scores of 85.  Justice's round included an eagle on the fourth hole, a 433-yard par 5.

Samantha Tinsley was right behind with an 86.

The Pioneers will continue competition at the Spring Fling with the final round on Sunday.
