Malone Notes
  • The Pioneers are coming off of a much-needed 81-54 victory over Trevecca Nazarene last Saturday, their most-lopsided conference victory of the season. Prior to that win, Malone had lost three of its previous four by a total of 10 points.
  • The Pioneers come into the Tuesday's night's game with five straight non-conference victories.
  • Senior Nate Sheppard, who leads the team in scoring with 19.4 points per game, is averaging 23.9 points in the seven non-conference contests. During those seven games, he is shooting 46.8% (29-of-62) from three-point range.
  • Senior forward Ben Evans has averaged 13.6 points while shooting 57.4% from the field and 50% (18-of-36) from three-point range in non-league games.
  • Junior forward Sehill Mouliom is shooting 65.2% against non-conference opponents this season. Mouliom is coming off of a 5-for-5 shooting effort and his second double-digit scoring performance of the season last Saturday against Trevecca.
  • Junior guard Bryce Butler scored 13 points in the win vs. Trevecca to mark his 13th straight game in double figures. Butler is second on the team this season in scoring (15.2 ppg) and has made a team-high 44.4% (40-90) of his shots from beyond the arc.
  • Sophomore guard Jaret Majestic, who has 99 career three-pointers, went 6-for-9 from three-point range and scored 20 points over two games last week.
  • Daylan Haynie (8.2 ppg) continues to lead the team in assists (4.8 apg) and steals (31). In non-conference games this season, the junior point guard is averaging 10.9 points and 6.9 assists while guiding the offense to 81.3 points per game.
  • Sophomore forward Marcus Ernst leads the team in rebounds (8.6 rpg) and total blocks (21) while scoring 7.6 points per game. Ernst is shooting 62.5% from the field over the last eight games.
  • As a team, Malone is shooting 49.1% in non-conference games, compared to 43.7% against the G-MAC, and is averaging over 10 three-pointers per game against non-conference foes.
  • The Pioneers are also 8-4 at home where they are shooting 48.5% overall. Those numbers should bode well against a Kentucky Christian team which has struggled away from home.
