Series History
The Pioneers are 36-44 all-time against the Cavaliers, although the balance of power has shifted recently in favor of Walsh. Save for Malone's Mayors' Cup victory in North Canton two seasons ago, Walsh has won six of the last seven overall matchups by an average of 11.5 points per game. Last season, Walsh topped Malone 63-54 in Osborne Hall in January before besting Malone 67-54 at its Alumni Arena in February.
Malone Notes
	- The Pioneers are coming off of a 1-1 week which included a 72-62 Saturday victory over Tiffin that snapped a four-game losing streak.
- Four different Pioneers scored at least 13 points in that win and the 72 total points were the second-most in regulation this season.
- Malone knocked down a season-high 12 three-pointers and have made at least 10 three-pointers in three of the five wins this season.
- As a team, Malone ranks 11th in the country in attempted threes (378) and 22nd in total made threes (115).
- Freshman point guard Robin Campbell, who will get her first taste of the Walsh rivalry on Saturday, is the reigning G-MAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 5.5 assists over the two games.
- In the win over Tiffin, Campbell scored a game-high 19 points and recorded a season-high 12 rebounds and eight assists. Among G-MAC freshmen this season, she is first in assists (3.6 apg) and second in points (13.4 ppg) and rebounds (5.9 rpg).
- Junior forward Ellen Doyle, along with Campbell, ranks among the top-20 in the G-MAC in rebounding, pulling down 5.3 boards a game. She is second on the team in scoring (8.7 ppg) and is coming off an 18-point performance (second-most in her career) versus Tiffin.
- Senior forward Naomi Grandison, who is approaching 600 career points, totaled 14 points vs. Tiffin, including a 4-of-5 effort from three-point range. On the season, she leads the team in three-point shooting percentage, making 38.6% (22-57) of her tries from beyond the arc.
- Junior Sydney Wentling remains the Pioneers' top scorer off the bench, averaging 7.8 points per game, including 13 in last week's win over Tiffin. At Walsh on Saturday, Wentling will look to fare better than she did last season, where she was held scoreless for the only time in 26 games.
- Senior Chrissie Vaughan totaled 26 points in the two games against Walsh last season and has scored at least eight points in all six career meetings against the Cavs. Vaughan has made at least one three-pointer in all 14 games this season and will look to heat up on Saturday against a team she has a proven history of success.
- Malone is 3-4 in road games this season and 1-3 in G-MAC road games. The Pioneers are averaging just 50.8 points over those four games.
- The Pioneer defense has played well in the four G-MAC road games, holding opponents to just 61.2 points and 36.1% shooting. Overall this season, Malone ranks fourth in the conference in scoring defense and second in field goal defense.
