LILBURN, Ga. - For the second consecutive season,
Erin Kaufman of the Malone University women's basketball team has been selected as an Honorable Mention All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
Kaufman, the senior center from Glandorf, Ohio, helped lead the Pioneers to a 25-7 overall record and a 16-4 mark inside the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). Their .781 winning percentage is the best since the 1982-83 season. Kaufman graduates from Malone ranked fourth on the all-time scoring list with 1803 points and third in rebounds at 1020.
In 32 games this season, Kaufman averaged 16.8 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. From the field, Kaufman shot 48.1%, 35.6% from deep and 84.0% from the free throw line. She led the team with 59 steals and 25 blocks as well. Kaufman was named First Team All-Conference in the G-MAC and Second Team All-Region by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA).
Kaufman had 11 double-doubles on the season, which is good for 30th in all of NCAA DII. She was ranked inside the top-50 individually in points (539), rebounds (290), field goals (193) and made free throws (137).
