Series History
East West: Tuesday will mark the first-ever meeting between the Pioneers and the Phantoms from East-West. 
WV State: Malone held on for a 77-76 victory over West Virginia State last November in the first and only meeting between the two teams.  Guard Nate Sheppard totaled a game-high 24 points in last year's game.
 
Malone Notes
-The Pioneers (1-2) notched their first win of the season on Saturday as they tallied a convincing 82-54 triumph in their home opener against Kentucky State University
-Malone registered a 13-4 record on Hal Smith Court last season and will look to improve to 2-0 at historic Osborne Hall on Tuesday
-For the second consecutive game, the Pioneers shot over 40% from beyond the arc, making nine of 22 three-pointers in Saturday's contest. Through its first three games, Malone has made 34 of 86 (39.5) attempts from long range and its average of 11.3 treys per contest is the third-best among Great Midwest Athletic Conference teams
-While Malone has shot the ball well from three-point land so far this year, the squad has struggled somewhat at the foul line, having made 35 of 56 attempts (62.5%) at the charity stripe. 
-Guard Bryce Butler had a big game against KSU on Saturday, scoring a career-high 19 points after hitting seven of 11 shots from the field, including two of four three-pointers
-Sheppard also tossed in 19 points on Saturday to go with nine rebounds and two assists.  The senior guard is accounting for 22 points per game thus far – which leads the G-MAC entering Tuesday's match-up with East-West.  Sheppard is also grabbing 6.3 rebounds per contest and has made 13 three-pointers
-After coming off the bench his first three seasons, senior Ben Evans has made a nice transition to the starting line-up this year.  The forward has reached double figures in scoring in all three games and is averaging 15.7 points per contest.  He has also pulled down 5.3 rebounds per outing and has drilled 10 of 20 three-pointers on the season.
-Forward Marcus Ernst registered his first career double-double on Saturday with 11 points and 11 rebounds
-Guard Daylan Haynie totaled 11 points, six rebounds and six assists on Saturday.  The junior is averaging 8.7 points, 6.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game so far and leads the G-MAC in assist-to-turnover ratio (5.0)

-East-West University is located in Chicago, Illinois and competes in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA)
-The Phantoms have started the year 0-14 and dropped their most recent game to Roosevelt University on Saturday by a final score of 90-71
-Forward Naija Chandler led the way for East-West during Saturday's contest, scoring a game-high 23 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the floor
-Guard Allen Morris added 14 points in Saturday's game
-Guard Torrence Thomas posted nine points, six rebounds and four assists vs. Roosevelt
