At the Spire Midwest Open in Geneva, Ohio Saturday, Taylor, a sophomore from East Canton (East Canton H.S.), posted an impressive runner-up finish, among 35 competitors, in the weight throw with a toss of 59' 7.50". His throw was a new Malone indoor record and also an NCAA Division II provisional national qualifying mark.
