Trusty, a junior from Sycamore, Ohio (Mohawk H.S.), helped lead Malone to a runner-up finish, among 47 teams represented, at the All-Ohio Championships in Cedarville, Ohio last Friday. Trusty topped the Pioneer squad with a ninth-place finish overall, among 289 competitors in the race, with a time of 25:28.01 over the 8K course.Â
Malone tallied 103 points for its second-place finish, just 20 points behind champion University of Akron, which had 83 points.  Miami University took third (119), Ashland University was fourth (152) and host Cedarville University rounded out the top five (158). The Pioneers, currently ranked 19th in the latest NCAA Division II National Coaches Poll, defeated numerous NCAA Div. I teams en route to their runner-up finish in the largest collegiate state meet in the country.
