GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Malone University baseball and softball teams both find themselves in the third iteration of the NCCAA Coaches Poll. The Pioneer baseball team is tenth and softball is ranked ninth nationally.

Malone baseball is currently 11-7 and have one on the top team batting averages in the NCCAA at .322 so far this season.
Shane Coblentz leads the squad with a .438 average and is inside the top-30 as an individual in the NCCAA. On the mound, Coblentz is also 14th in earned run average at 2.84. Other key statistical leaders for the Pioneers include
Colin Coblentz with 50 total bases and a .704 slugging percentage and
Zach Root with a team-high 20 walks.

The softball program at Malone holds a mark of 9-5. The Pioneers are a team that relies heavily on the pitching staff.
Summer McCaw (1.86 ERA) and
Mia Rose (2.79 ERA) are both ranked 4th and 18th respectively in the NCCAA. Rose's 35 strikeouts is good for 14th nationally. A trio of hitters are above .300 for the team in
Jessie Crookston (.360),
Marlee Pireu (.333) and
Sidney Conti (.333).

Malone baseball and softball are both on the road for their next games on Friday, March 20. The baseball team begins a four-game series at Hillsdale College at 1:00 P.M. and the softball team is at the University of Findlay for a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) doubleheader starting at 2:00 P.M.
