GREENVILLE, S.C. – The NCCAA has announced the second iteration of the 2025 Stat Report for men's and women's cross country. Both the Malone University men's and women's cross country programs are ranked second in the association behind Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) foe, Cedarville University.
The men's team entered the rankings for the first time after the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Classic. Malone has a total team time of 2:07:35 in the 8k, just off the best time of 2:06:08 by the Yellow Jackets. There are three members of the men's team inside the top ten, led by
Hayden Schmidt at 25:17.1 (fifth) and
Xander Heil at 25:18.2 (sixth).
Tyler Twining is ninth overall with a season-best time of 25:34.4. Cedarville has five slots of the top ten and the College of the Ozarks owns the best individual time in the NCCAA.
The Pioneer women were first last week (1:36:15), but dropped to second behind Cedarville (1:29:50). The Yellow Jackets own each of the top five times in the NCCAA. Malone's
Kristin Yeager and
Jenna Cassidy are now eighth and tenth individually. Yeager ran an 18:32.2 and Cassidy a 18:56.5 at the season-opening race at Wright State University for their best 5k conversion times of the year.
The cross country programs return to the course on Saturday, September 27 at Youngstown State University for their second home invitational of the season. The action begins at 10:00 A.M.
