CANTON, Ohio – The defending Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament Champion Malone University men's basketball team has released their 2025-26 schedule for the upcoming year. It will be the third campaign under Head Coach
Charlie Wallrapp.
The first event of the season will be at Tiffin University for the regional crossover between the G-MAC and Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). The Pioneers will face Lewis University on November 14 and McKendree University on November 15. From there, Malone is inside Osborne Hall for five consecutive contests, including the beginning of conference play.
The team will square off with Bryant & Stratton College (November 18), Edinboro University of Pennsylvania (November 25) and Villa Maria College (November 29) at home before Hillsdale College and Tiffin University visit Canton on December 4 and 6. The December 6 game against the Dragons will also mark the program's Toys for Tots event.
The Pioneers make in-state and in-conference road trips to Cedarville University on December 11 and Lake Erie College on December 13 and then face Grand Valley State University of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) on the road on December 17. Malone will host two games over winter break: Wright State University- Lake Campus on December 20 and Kent State University at Tuscarawas on December 30.
The rest of the season schedule is fast and furious with G-MAC action. The Pioneers travel to the Mitten State of Michigan for two on January 3 at Hillsdale and January 5 at Northwood University before returning to Ohio for a three-game homestand. That stretch features appearances by the 2024-25 regular season champion University of Findlay (January 10), Kentucky Wesleyan College (January 15) and the G-MAC Tournament runners-up Thomas More University (January 17).
Despite being late in the year, the team will see Ohio Dominican University (January 22), Walsh University (January 24) and Ashland University (January 29) for the first time. The lone home game in that span is against the rivals from the north, Walsh. On January 31, the team heads to Tiffin for a third game on their floor this season and a February 5 contest at home comes against Northwood, a team the Pioneers are 5-0 against since they joined the conference.
Similar to their Michigan trip, Malone will leave Ohio for a weekend to the Bluegrass State to take on Kentucky Wesleyan on February 12 and Thomas More on February 14. However, three of the final four games will be at home for the Pioneers. They face in-state competition in Ashland on February 19, Lake Erie on February 21 and Ohio Dominican on February 26. The senior class will be celebrated prior to tip-off against Lake Erie.
The final regular season affair will be the 62 Annual Mayors' Cup Game held at Walsh on February 28. The Pioneers have won three games in a row against the Cavaliers with back-to-back Mayors' Cup victories in 2023-24 and 2024-25.
