Five Additions Made to Malone Men's Soccer Roster

CANTON, Ohio – The Malone University men's soccer team and Head Coach Bill Lawrence have announced another round of signings prior to the start of the 2025 season. Cael Summers, Andrew Jamison, Wyatt Caudle, Thembani Phoya and Josiah Bixler will be a part of the men's soccer roster.
 
Summers was a part of the 2024 Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division IV state champion River View High School team. The squad was also a two-time East District champion during Summers' tenure. He served as a team captain and was First Team All-Conference and All-District in three seasons. Summers played club soccer for Arsenal Soccer Club in Zanesville Ohio and won the Ohio Presidents Cup in 2023.
 
Jamison is from Lawton, Oklahoma where he attended and played soccer at Eisenhower High School. He played club as a member of the Sporting Oklahoma Soccer Club. Jamison intends to major is cyber security upon his arrival at Malone.
 
Caudle was a four-year starter at Lake Center Christian High School in Hartville, Ohio. He was named the conference's Goalkeeper of the Year three times in his career and earned First Team All-County and All-District in 2024. He helped the Tigers to an 18-2-2 record in 2024 with a conference and district championship. Caudle held a 1.63 goals against average, a 77% save percentage and recorded 23 shutouts in his career. He is Lake Center's all-time leader in total saves (412), total shutouts, and holds the school record for both fewest goals allowed (17) and most shutouts recorded (11) in a single season.
 
Phoya is a forward and midfielder from Blantyre, Malawi. He attended the Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut upon his arrival to the United States. For the first time in his program's history, Phoya helped lead the program to a second-place finish with a goal in the championship match. He is the son of Henry D. Phoya and Kondwani L. Phoya and plans to major in business management.
 
Bixler is a graduate of Kidron Central Christian High School where he was Mid-Buckeye Conference First Team in 2023 and 2024. Bixler was a Second Team All-District honoree in 2024 and an Honorable Mention All-District selection the year prior. He earned a varsity letter and was a scholar athlete in all four years of high school. His team reached the OHSAA district finals in all four seasons with three district titles and a regional title in 2024. Upon his arrival at Malone, Bixler intends to study biology.
