CANTON – Malone University's women's basketball team will return home to Osborne Hall on Wednesday evening to welcome Lake Erie College.

Close Loss to Cedarville
On Saturday, Malone traveled to Cedarville University where the teams traded baskets all game, and neither gaining a double-digit lead.
While Cedarville took a six-point lead to the halftime locker, Malone outscored the Yellow Jackets 21-13 in the third quarter, it was some late free throws that gave the home team the victory 72-69.
Robin Campbell and Alexis Hutchison led the Pioneers with 16 and 15 points each. Campbell also dished out a game-high seven assists, which places her in the top five on Malone's All-Time List in assists and top of the G-MAC.
Brooklyn Troyer pulled down a season-high and game-high nine rebounds.
Malone holds the third highest field goal percentage in the league, shooting 47.4%. The Pioneers are averaging 14.75 assists per game placing them fourth in the conference.
Hardwood Series
Wednesday's match up will be the 32nd all time between Lake Erie and Malone. The Pioneers have a commanding 22-9 series lead and won the earlier match up this season in Painesville 72-64.
Malone has won the last three games against the Storm.
In the early December game earlier this season, Robin Campbell scored 19 points after shooting 6-6 from the field, and 7-13 from the charity stripe. Holly Groff scored 18 points and pulled down a team high six rebounds.
Alexis Hutchison and Emma Kallas also scored in double-digits to help the Pioneers with the victory on the road.
Knowing Your Opponent
The Lake Erie Storm are coming off a loss at Kentucky Wesleyan on January 15th.
The Panthers took control of the game with an 18-1 lead just over halfway through the first quarter. The Storm gained some momentum in the second quarter, but Kentucky Wesleyan still took a nine point lead to the halftime locker room.
The second half belonged to the Panthers as they went on to win 65-46.
Breanna Bauer and Lauren Flannery both scored 11 points. Flannery, Alexis Lehmkuhl, and Kayla Clark all pulled down the game-high of seven rebounds (16 of the 21 total came on the defensive end of the court). As a team, Lake Erie scored 24 points in the paint and 17 points off the bench.
Looking Ahead
The Pioneers will be home this weekend as they host Ursuline College. Tip off from Osborne Hall is 1:00pm on January 22.
