MALONE-FINDLAY ALL-TIME SERIES
The Pioneers hold a 36-19-1 all-time mark on the baseball diamond against the Oilers. The two teams did not meet in the COVID-shortened 2020 season.

In 2019 Malone swept a four-game series on the road from Findlay. The Oilers last win in the series came in the final game of a three-game set in April of 2018.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE PIONEERS

  1. As a team Malone is hitting .276, and they have four players batting over the .300 mark. Tyson Gingerich continues to lead the way with a .435 mark. He has 10 hits in 23 at bats, and has scored 12 runs for the Pioneers. He is also 10-10 on stolen base attempts.
  2. Joe Crank and Evan Balzano are tied for the team-lead in run production with six RBIs each. Balzano had a two-run double in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against West Virginia State, and Crank had a RBI in the second game.

  3. Gingerich (.567), Jake Aleman (.519), and Andrew Hanna (.500) all rank inside the top-15 in the G-MAC in on-base percentage.

  4. As a staff the Pioneers have a 4.32 ERA. James Kontur has made two appearances, pitched 4.2 total innings and has yet to allow an earned run.

  5. In the game two win over West Virginia State Chase Jessee went the distance for Malone to pick up the victory. It was the first complete game by a Pioneer pitcher since Eric Mullet in a 6-2 win at Kentucky Wesleyan on May 2, 2019.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT
Findlay enters this weekend off of back-to-back losses to the University of Charleston. The Oilers two wins this season have both come against Ohio Valley University.

Findlay's offense is being led by senior infielder Tyler Burley. He has a .389 batting average, and a team-high seven hits. Burley also leads the way with eight RBIs.

On the mound Chase Hopewell has 13 strikeouts in 10 innings pitched. Junior right-hander Ryan Mohr has pitched a team-high 14 innings and has an ERA of just 1.93

WHAT'S NEXT
The Pioneers will play their home opener next weekend. Malone hosts Trevecca Nazarene on March 19 and 20. The series will be played at Minerva High School.
