2020: In a Coronavirus-shortened 2020 season, Kontur made four pitching appearances for the Pioneers... Totaled 8.1 innings on the bump, 5.40 ERA and eight strikeouts... Picked up a save in .2 innings versus West Liberty (2/21/20)... Named G-MAC All-Academic Team

2019: Kontur made 13 relief appearances during his sophomore season…Registered a 3.72 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 19.1 innings pitched…Collected a season-high six strikeouts in three innings vs. Trevecca (3/15/19)…Struck out five batters while earning a three-inning save against Davis & Elkins (3/22/19)... Named G-MAC All-Academic Team

2018: Kontur pitched in 14 games as a freshman, making three starts and 11 relief appearances…Totaled 21 strikeouts in 29.2 innings pitched…Posted a 3-0 record and recorded first collegiate save in a win over Mary (3/5/18)…Tossed 3.1 innings in collegiate debut vs. Illinois Springfield (2/24/18)…Earned first collegiate win after pitching two scoreless frames vs. Davenport (3/2/18)…Struck out a season-high six batters against Hillsdale (4/8/18)…Worked a scoreless inning in first collegiate start at Gannon (4/18/18)...Pitched a season-high five innings in a win over Wheeling Jesuit (4/26/18)

Prior to Malone: Kontur was a two-time All-Ohioan at Lake Center Christian where he also earned First Team Northeast District, All-Stark County, and All-Portage Trail Conference honors.  As a senior, he posted a 7-3 record with a 1.21 ERA and 100 strikeouts in 63 innings pitched. During an incredible junior season, he went 8-1 with a 0.23 ERA and 93 Ks in 60 innings pitched and was named PTC Player of the Year and First Team All-Ohio. Academically, James was the President of the Honor Society.
