Five from Malone Baseball Awarded All-Region by NCCAA

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The NCCAA has released the Midwest Regional awards for the 2026 baseball season. The Malone University baseball team had several members honored on the All-Regional ballot.
 
Head Coach Tom Crank was selected as the Midwest Regional Coach of the Year. The longtime skipper finished his 23rd season as head coach of Malone with a record of 24-24 and ended the year with a series win over Ohio Dominican University. Malone improved their overall win total by seven and made a 15-win improvement over the last two seasons. The Pioneers were 13-12 at Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium in 2026.
 
Freshman pitcher and utility man Shane Coblentz was chosen as the Midwest Regional Pitcher of the Year and made it to the First Team All-Midwest Region in the NCCAA. Coblentz pitched 63.1 innings both as a starter and out of the bullpen (16 appearances, eight starts) with a 4.83 ERA and 6-4 pitching record. He had four complete games and tallied one save. He tied for the team-lead with 59 strikeouts. Along with his efforts on the mound, Coblentz batted .326 with 36 runs scored and 36 RBIs. He led the team with 16 doubles and was 17-for-18 on stolen base attempts.
 
Freshman outfielder Colin Coblentz represented the Pioneers as a First Team All-Midwest Region. He slugged 13 homeruns on the season, the most in the program's NCAA Division II era. Coblentz batted .341 with a team-high 1.142 OPS. He scored a team-high 61 runs with 32 RBIs and stole 19 bases in 25 attempts, the most successful tries for Malone.
 
Sophomore infielder Doran Mast was tabbed as a First Team All-Midwest Region selection by the NCCAA after he secured a team-high .400 batting average with ten doubles, two triples and one homerun. He came on strong in the second half of the season and ended the year with 33 runs scored and 28 RBIs.
 
For the first time in his career, redshirt senior Reilly Tyna was voted as a First Team All-Midwest Region honoree. The first baseman and outfielder was a consistent presence in the middle of the order with a .383 batting average, 35 runs scored and 38 RBIs (team-high). Tyna was 9-of-14 on stolen base opportunities and drove in six runs on sacrifice flies, the most for the Pioneers on the year.
