CANTON, Ohio -- Tonight, the Malone University women's basketball team will return home for a Great Midwest Athletic Conference matchup against Ohio Valley University, after winning on Saturday at Lake Erie College.

Tonight is the 12th all-time meeting between these two programs with Malone holding the lead in the series 9-2.
This is the first time that the Pioneers have faced the Fighting Scots this season.
The last time they faced each other was February of 2020, with Malone coming out on top 75-45.

Due to current local health regulations, fans are limited to just two spectators per student-athlete, as well as a limited ticket allotment for visiting spectators. These tickets are made available directly through communication with the student-athlete.
Malone University will adhere to school, local and state guidelines as it pertains to the COVID-19 pandemic. If patrons are feeling ill, we ask that you remain home.
All patrons are asked to wear a mask and social distance inside the gym. We also ask that patrons exit the building immediately following the contest.
FIVE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE PIONEERS
- In Malone's last game on January 16, a 58-42 win against Lake Erie College in Painesville, senior Holly Groff had another 15+ point performance (finishing with a game-high 18 points). She has now scored double-digit points in eight of the ten games this season.

In that same contest, Madison Hunter made a season-high 16 points and team-high 11 rebounds to finish with her first double-double of the season.

The Pioneers defense forced the Storm into 25 turnovers and outscored Lake Erie with a 26-4 advantage in points-off-turnovers.

Individually on the offensive end, Holly Groff continues to rank inside of the top ten in the G-MAC in scoring, field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage, three-point field goals per game, assists, and average minutes per game.

The Pioneers enter play tonight as the fifth-best defensive team in the league, surrendering 73 points per game.
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT
Ohio Valley began play for the 2020-2021 season on January 16 and has yet to get in the win column. Last year the Fighting Scots finished 4-21 overall and 1-17 in G-MAC games.
Nahia Urturi-Ortiz leads Ohio Valley with points per game (13.5), offensive rebounds (3), and defensive rebounds (11).

The Pioneers are scheduled to travel to Pepper Pike, Ohio to face Ursuline College on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
