CANTON, Ohio – Coming off their first win of the season, the Malone University men's basketball team gets back into –Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play with a home game versus Ohio Valley University on Wednesday, January 20.
HARDWOOD SERIES HISTORY:
The Pioneers are 6-1 all-time against the Fighting Scots of Ohio Valley. Malone swept Ohio Valley last season, including a 102-63 victory at home. The lone win for Ohio Valley came in February 2019, when the Pioneers fell 62-56 in Vienna, West Virginia.

Malone won their first game of the season last week against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opponent Clarion University on Friday 92-74.
Justin Miller scored 17 points in the game and was named Malone Athlete of the Week.
Last season's home game against Ohio Valley was a blowout victory for the Pioneers.
Jaret Majestic and
Bo Myers each connected on six three-point tries and led the team with 23 points apiece.
Eli Ramsey was nearing a triple-double in the game with 11 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.
In three of his last four games,
Marcus Ernst has filed a double-double with points and rebounds. In that stretch, Ernst has averaged 18.3 points per game and 9.3 rebounds per game. He sits sixth in the G-MAC in rebounding in 2020-21 and leads the league in offensive boards with 20.
As a team, Malone only allows opponents to shoot 30.5% from beyond the arc, the fourth-lowest in the G-MAC. The Pioneers are also third in the conference in steals per game, including
Bryce Butler who has collected two in each of the last two contests.
Bo Myers leads the team in steals this season with eight total.

In their most recent game, Ohio Valley lost to Kentucky Wesleyan at home 85-50. In only 26 minutes of action, Cameron Shaw led scoring in the game with 17 points.
As a team, the Fighting Scots give up 97 points per game, the highest in the conference. Rebounding the basketball, Ohio Valley has the second worst rebound margin in the conference.
Cameron Shaw (17.5 PPG) and Keon Claiborne (16.2 PPG) are fourth and eighth in G-MAC scoring. The Fighting Scots have four double-digit scorers on their squad with Christian Alley (12.4 PPG) and Parker Black (12.2 PPG).
Black is second in the conference in assists per game at 6.2 per game. Black is a do-it-all player for Ohio Valley with 12.2 points, a team-high 6.5 rebounds, 6.2 assists and has played the most minutes per game at 34.7.
