2017-18: Played in all 29 games as a true freshman with the Pioneers, coming off the bench to average 13.7 minutes per game…Totaled 102 points, 112 rebounds, 19 assists, eight blocks, and five steals…Shot a team-high 55.4% (46-of-83) from the field…Scored a season-high 15 points (6-7 FG, 3-3 3PT) in a win over Alice Lloyd (11/21/17)…Tallied nine points and a season-high 13 rebounds in a win over Lake Erie (1/11/18).
Prior to Malone: Ernst lettered for Edgewood in basketball, football and baseball. On the hardwood, Ernst surpassed 1,000 career points for the Warriors. He averaged 20.4 points, 10.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game as a senior, helping lead his team to the 2017 All-American Conference Championship. Following the completion of his outstanding senior season, Ernst was named First Team All-County, First Team All-AAC, Third Team All-District and the Ashtabula County Basketball Foundation Co-Player of the Year.
