Ashton Dulin Reaches Free Agent Agreement with Indianapolis Colts

After going unselected in the 2019 NFL Draft, Malone University senior wide receiver Ashton Dulin has reportedly agreed to terms with the Indianapolis Colts on an undrafted free agent (UDFA) contract. The historic signing makes Dulin the first-ever Pioneer to ink with an NFL team.

The Reynoldsburg, Ohio native led all wide receivers in the NCAA – regardless of Division – with 194.7 all-purpose yards per game in 2018. He recorded 61 receptions for 981 yards and scored 15 touchdowns in 10 games, including a DII-leading three kickoff return touchdowns. Dulin was the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Special Teams Player of the Year as well as the G-MAC Offensive Back of the Year.

In addition to being a candidate for the Harlon Hill Trophy, awarded to the best player in Division II, Dulin was also named First Team All-Super Region 1, Honorable Mention All-America by D2Football.com, and Second Team All-America by Don Hansen Football. He finished his career with 189 receptions for 3,188 yards and 28 receiving touchdowns. He accumulated 5,455 career all-purpose yards and 34 total touchdowns.

Along with his football prowess, the athletically-gifted Dulin was a two-time G-MAC Indoor and Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year. He was a 2017 Division II First Team All-American in the outdoor 400-meter hurdles and a 2018 First Team All-American in the indoor 60-meter hurdles.

Dulin was one of just five Division II athletes invited to the NFL Scouting Combine in March where he posted a 4.43 in the 40-yard dash and a 38" vertical, both 11th-best among receivers. A total 28 wide receivers were taken in this year's NFL Draft, leaving Dulin on the short-list of coveted UDFA's. Only five Division II prospects from any position were drafted among the 254 picks.

Dulin will now have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot with the Indianapolis Colts and head coach Frank Reich while learning from Pro Bowl wide receiver T.Y. Hilton and catching passes from Pro Bowl quarterback and former number one overall pick Andrew Luck.

The Colts open the 2019 preseason on August 8th at Buffalo.
