Don Hansen Football Gazette All-Super Region 1 Team
Malone University senior wide receiver
Ashton Dulin was tabbed First Team All-Super Region 1 all-purpose and Third Team All-Super Region 1 as a return specialist by the Don Hansen Football Gazette late last week. Dulin will now be eligible for All-America consideration when the organization announces the awards in the upcoming weeks.
Â
The Don Hansen Football Gazette carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away in 2010. Hansen started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988. Don Hansen's FB Gazette began selecting Division II All-Region squads in 2003.
Â
Super Region 1 consists of 45 teams from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), the Northeast 10 Conference (NE10), and the Mountain East Conference (MEC).
Â
Dulin, who recently competed in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, led Super Region 1 and finished second in NCAA Division II in all-purpose yards per game (194.7). He finished 10th in the nation in kickoff return average (29.9 ypr) and tied for the DII lead with three kick return touchdowns.
Â
As a receiver, the Reynoldsburg, Ohio native caught 61 passes for 984 yards (16.1 avg) and 11 touchdowns. He also carried 13 times for 120 yards and a rushing touchdown. Altogether, Dulin totaled 15 touchdowns and ranked among the top-5 in the Super Region in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.
Â
Dulin, an NFL Prospect, has already been named First Team All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference as both a wide receiver and return specialist; he was the G-MAC Offensive Back of the Year and the G-MAC Special Teams Player of the Year; he was selected Second Team All-Super Region 1 as a returner by the D2CCA; and he was voted an Honorable Mention All-American as all-purpose player by d2football.com.
