Don Hansen 2018 All-America Teams
Malone University senior
Ashton Dulin was named Second Team All-American as an all-purpose player by the Don Hansen Football Committee Tuesday morning when the organization announced its All-American Teams.
Â
The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away in 2010. Hansen started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.
Â
Dulin, a native of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, finished second in Division II in all-purpose yards, averaging 194.7 per game. As a receiver, the 6'2" 210-pound Dulin caught 61 passes for 984 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also ran the ball 13 times for 120 yards and a touchdown.
Â
As a kick returner, Dulin averaged 29.9 yards on 28 returns and tied for the Division II lead with three kickoff return touchdowns. The future NFL pro racked up 15 total touchdowns and led all receivers in NCAA football (FBS. FCS, DII, or DIII) in all-purpose yards.
Â
Along with his Don Hansen Second Team All-American honors, Dulin was named First Team All-Super Region 1 all-purpose and Third Team All-SR1 as a return specialist by the same organization earlier this month. Already a multiple time All-American in track & field, Dulin also received Honorable Mention All-American recognition from d2football.com.
Â
Following his tremendous senior season, Dulin was voted D2CCA Second Team All-Super Region 1 as a return specialist. He received First Team All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference recognition at two different positions and was named the G-MAC Offensive Back of the Year and the G-MAC Special Teams Player of the Year.
Â
In four seasons at Malone, Dulin became the school record holder in career receptions (189), receiving yards (3,188), and all-purpose yards (5,455), He ranks second all-time in receiving touchdowns (28) and third in total touchdowns (34).
