Ashton Dulin to Take Part in NFL Scouting Combine

Dulin is one of just five Division II prospects invited to this year's combine.

Malone University's Ashton Dulin is set to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine this week at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The NFL Scouting Combine is an intense, week-long event where the nation's best college football players are awarded the opportunity to showcase themselves in front of all 32 NFL teams in advance of the NFL Draft in late April.

Prospects arrive with their position groups in four-day intervals during which time they face what is essentially a four-day job interview. They are given medical examinations, injury evaluations, drug screenings, psychological testing, and cognitive ability testing with the Wonderlic Test. Throughout the week, players also have the opportunity to meet with NFL executives, coaching staffs, and player personnel departments.

On the fourth day, participants compete in nationally-televised, on-field workouts, including the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump, 3-cone drill, 20-yard shuttle, 60-yard shuttle, and the bench press. The televised workouts will air on the NFL Network beginning this Friday, March 1st.

With his unique combination of size and exceptional athleticism, Ashton Dulin, a native of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, is one of the most intriguing prospects invited to this year's combine. The 6'2", 210-pound Dulin was an All-American during the 2018 football season after racking up nearly 2,000 all-purpose yards and 15 touchdowns. Dulin is also a two-time G-MAC Indoor and Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year and an NCAA Division II Track All-American in the outdoor 400m hurdles and the indoor 60m hurdles.

Among the 337 prospects invited to take part in the combine, Dulin is one just five players from Division II and one of 48 wide receivers slated to participated. Dulin led all receivers in NCAA football (FBS, FCS, DII, or DIII) with 194.7 all-purpose yards per game this past fall.

Wide receivers, quarterbacks, and tight ends are scheduled to arrive in Indianapolis on Wednesday, February 27th. Their on-field workouts take place this Saturday, March 2nd with exclusive live coverage beginning at 10:00 am on the NFL Network.

Of the 44 wide receivers invited to last year's combine, 27 were drafted and 16 more were signed as free agents. The NFL Draft this year will be held in Nashville, Tennessee from April 25-27 with coverage on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, and the NFL Network.
