The Malone University baseball team will look to extend its four-game winning streak this Wednesday, March 27th when it travels to North Canton to take on Walsh University in a standalone Great Midwest Athletic Conference doubleheader. Both teams enter the week at .500 in the G-MAC Standings and could use the midweek doubleheader to springboard themselves to an early-season advantage over their respective rival.

Malone Notes
- The Pioneers are coming off of a four-game series sweep of Davis & Elkins in which they outscored the Senators 41-9. Malone, which gave up just four earned runs during the sweep, boasts the best team ERA in the G-MAC.
- Junior righthander Tyrus Jones did not allow an earned over seven innings pitched in his first collegiate start last Tuesday against Tiffin. Jones owns a 2.82 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 22.1 innings pitched this season.
- Offensively, the Pioneers hit .356 in their sweep of D&E. On the year, Malone is third in the G-MAC in team batting average.
- Senior catcher Matt Noel batted .412 last week and totaled nine RBI in the weekend series. Noel leads the team with 21 RBI through 24 games.
- Freshman leftfielder Josh Haygood, a .313 hitter, has 20 RBI and a team-high 11 extra-base hits. Haygood smashed his team-leading third homerun of the season in Malone's 18-3 win over D&E on Sunday.
- Rightfielder Turner Hill leads the team with a .315 batting average while first baseman Austin White (.306) is tied for the team lead with six doubles. Hill is hitting .444 over the last eight games while White has at least one hit in six of the last seven.
- Junior second baseman Zach Mottice, who recorded his first collegiate homer last weekend, is hitting .304 on the season. Mottice is also second in the G-MAC in walks (18) and leads the team with a .474 on-base percentage.
- Shortstop Tyson Gingerich leads the team with 11 steals and has reached base in 15 consecutive games.
- Centerfielder Jacob Mottice has reached in 11 of the last 13 games. He leads the team (third in the G-MAC) with 21 runs scored.
- Malone is 10-5 in away and neutral site games and 14-2 in games when it holds opponents to five runs or fewer. Walsh has scored five or fewer runs in 11 of 17 games this season.
