Men’s Golf Adds Mark Dilling and Laszlo May

Malone men's golf head coach Ken Hyland has announced that Jackson High School's Mark Dilling and Rootstown High School's Laszlo May will attend the University this fall and compete for the Pioneers.

Dilling is a three-year member of the Jackson boys golf team and helped lead the Polar Bears to Sectional and District Championships and a trip to the state tournament this past fall.  As a senior, Dilling was named First Team All-Federal League, First Team All-Stark County and First Team All-Northeast District.  He has also excelled in the classroom as an Academic All-Ohio selection and as a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society.  Dilling plans to major in Physical Sciences and Mechanical Engineering at Malone.

May has competed for the Rootstown boys golf team for all four years of his high school career.  He is a four-time First Team All-Conference honoree, a four-time All-Northeast District selection and a four-time district qualifier.  As a sophomore in 2016, he set the league tournament record with a one-under-par round of 71 at Sable Creek Golf Course. Then as a senior this past fall, May competed at the OHSAA Division III State Tournament where he placed 27th overall.  He helped guide the Rovers to Portage Trail Conference titles in 2015, 2016 and 2018 and a spot in this year's District Tournament.  Academically, May collected the Scholar Athlete Award in both 2017 and 2018 and plans to major in either Nursing or Engineering at Malone

Dilling and May join an exciting 2019-20 Pioneer recruiting class that already includes Tusky Valley's Brandon Goldsmith and Strongsville's Matthew Nimsuwan.
