The Malone University volleyball team suffered its third-straight sweep on Saturday, falling in three sets to McKendree University on day two of the Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover at the Academy Volleyball Club in Indianapolis. The 17-25, 16-25, 20-25 defeat dropped Malone to 13-11 on the season.

The Malone defense, which has been fantastic all season, struggled against the Bearcats, who totaled 49 kills and produced a .298 attacking percentage – the third-highest by a Malone opponent this season. McKendree, who entered the Crossover with the number seven seed in the GLVC, hit a robust .567 in the second set.

Malone totaled just 31 team kills in the match and never led by more than two points. A 7-5 lead in the third set was quickly erased by an 8-0 McKendree run as the Pioneers went on to be swept for the third time this weekend.

Mallory Adams led the Malone attack with nine kills on a .409 hitting percentage.
Veronica Gehring added eight kills,
Hannah Eliason recorded seven, and
Georgia Kiko chipped in with a handful.
Cathryn Miller dished out 27 assists.

Maggie Hamrock paced the Malone defense with 16 digs while
Faith Lau collected seven. Adams tallied four blocks to lead the way up front.
