The Malone University cross country teams both earned Top 3 finishes at Kutztown University's Division II / Division III Challenge on Saturday morning.
The Pioneer women, ranked 21st in the most recent NCAA Division II National Poll, took second among 18 teams while the Malone men earned a third-place finish among 19 schools.
Senior
Jade Smith led the way, placing first overall in the 6K women's race with a time of 22:35.7.
Hannah Thompson was right behind, placing eighth in 23:28.6.
Hannah Campbell took 11th in 23:45.3 while
Laura Tweedie was 20th in 24:11.2.
Rachel Wentworth gave Malone five competitors in the Top 25 as she placed 24th in 24:24.1.
Rachel Koons followed in 31st at 24:34.0 while
Allie Dalton was 39th in 24:54.2.
NCAA Division II No. 20 Stonehill narrowly edged the Pioneers for the women's team title (51-64), while West Chester was third (129) and Div. II No. 23 Shippensburg was fourth.
On the men's side, Malone had four individuals finish in the Top 12 of the 8K race.

Nate Boyer took fourth in 26:35.0,
Brett Cortelletti was tenth in 27:08.0 and
Noah Chaplik was 12th in 27:09.0.
Noah Whittington placed 24th in 27:36.0,
Zach Fresenko placed 29th in 27:42.0 and
Lorne Strausbaugh was 33rd in 27:50.0.
Stonehill, listed among those "receiving votes" in the most recent Division II National Poll, took the men's team title with 29 points, No. 18 Shippensburg was second with 48 points while Malone was a close third with 53 points.
The Pioneers will next compete on September 29th at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships, hosted by Cedarville University.
