Malone University track and field student-athletes
Ashton Dulin and
Erika Rector represented the Pioneers at The Ohio State University's Jesse Owens Classic on Saturday afternoon.
Dulin had an outstanding showing as he broke his own Great Midwest Athletic Conference records in both the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles.
In the 110 hurdles, the sophomore provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships after registering a fourth-place finish in 14.46 seconds. The Impressive time moves Dulin up to fifth on the Pioneers' all-time performance list in the event.
In the 400 hurdles, Dulin earned a runner-up finish among a field of mostly NCAA Division I competitors with a mark of 52.06 seconds. The strong showing improves Dulin's NCAA DII provisional qualifying position and was just shy of his own personal best of 51.79.
Rector competed in the 800 meters, placing 19th with a time of 2:15.22.
