This will be Malone's first ever match against Alderson Broaddus. Malone had their first match against Davis & Elkins last season in which the Pioneers topped the Senators 2-1 in a double overtime thriller.

Malone will be playing its first two home games of the season this, and they will be facing two G-MAC opponents. Last week the Pioneers split a pair of non-conference games in a trip to Florida in the Palm Beach Atlantic Tournament. After getting shut out by Pace University 3-0, the Pioneers bounced back for a comeback win against Spring Hill University. In the victory against Spring Hill, the Pioneers' two leading scorers from last season, Brianna Smith and Christine Najjar, each scored a goal in the final ten minutes of the game to give the Pioneers a 2-1 victory.

Alderson Broaddus University Schedule | Roster | Statistics

Record: 0-1

Alderson Broaddus will begin conference play today against the Pioneers, after dropping a non-conference game to Fairmont State last week 2-1. Freshman, Mikayla Oliverio scored the lone goal for Alderson Broaddus. The Battlers are led by junior Lauren Small, who was the team's leading scorer last season. Small was named 2nd team All-GMAC in 2015, as well as being named 2nd team All-ECAC. The Battlers' second leading scorer, Brittany Minor has returned as well.

Davis & Elkins College Schedule | Roster | Statistics

Record: 0-2

Davis & Elkins will be opening conference play this Saturday against Malone, after dropping two non-conference games last week. Those losses came from Edinboro University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Despite two losses in non-conference play, Davis & Elkins was picked to finish 3rd in the G-MAC during pre-season polls. Last season, the Senators were the #1 team in the conference during the regular season, despite losing in the semifinals during last's year's conference tournament. For their success, Coach Gene Smith was selected as G-MAC Coach of the Year. The team led the nation in points per game and goals scored per game last season. Returning for the Senators is sophomore, Katrina Giantsopoulos, who was named the HERO Sports Division II Newcomer of the Year last season. Katrina was the leading scorer in the nation among freshman and second leading overall scorer in the country with 29 goals. Katrina led the G-MAC in goals, assists and total points last season. Giantsopoulos was named All-Midwest Region First Team. She was G-MAC Offensive Player of the Year, G-MAC Freshman of the Year, and she was All-GMAC First Team. Another sophomore standout for the Senators, Lauren Hill, was selected to Second Team All-GMAC last year as a freshman for her work as a goal keeper. Along with Giantsopoulos and Hill, sophomore defender Tessa Stewart was named to the G-MAC All-Freshman Team last season.

Looking Ahead:

Next week the Pioneers will travel out of state for two conference games. On Thursday, Sept. 15th the Pioneers will be in Nashville, TN to face Trevecca Nazarene. Thursday's game will begin at 5:30pm CST (6:30pm EST). The Pioneers will then travel to Owensboro, KY to take on Kentucky Wesleyan College on Saturday, Sept. 17th. Saturday's game will begin at 2:30pm CST (3:30pm EST).
