Women's Basketball Notes: Pioneers Face Ohio Valley University in Non-Conference Clash

Rachel Goddard is first in all of NCAA DII with a 5.33 assist to turnover ratio.

The Malone University women's basketball team will finish the non-conference portion of its schedule this Saturday,December 19th when it hosts Ohio Valley University (WV) at 1:00 pm in Osborne Hall.

  • Freshman forward Ariel Johnson (8.9 ppg) is 3rd in the GMAC with 8.7 rebounds per game...she leads the GMAC and is 21st in the country with 4.3 offensive rebounds per game
  • Freshman Hanna Mitchell is second on the team in scoring (9.4 ppg) and leads the team with 18 steals
  • OVU is 4th in the GMAC with 9.6 steals per game
  • Freshman guard Jayln Gilbert is second on the team with 16 steals and leads the Scots with 17 assists
  • Ohio Valley is coming off an 84-67 loss to Rio Grande last Saturday
  • In that game, Mitchell (15), Johnson (13), guard Sierra Barker (11), and forward Anee' Braswell (10) all reached double-digits in scoring
