Series:       
The Cavaliers hold a 14-6 advantage in the annual battle for the John Bankert-Dick Gallagher Memorial Trophy.  Although the Pioneers had won three straight meetings from 2006-2008, Walsh has posted victories each of the last six years, including a 35-13 triumph last season.  Malone is 2-7 all-time as the "home" team.

Coaches:   
MaloneEric Hehman is in his sixth season as the Pioneers' head coach and has tallied an 11-48 record at Malone.  Prior to arriving in Canton, Hehman spent the previous five years as the head coach at NCAA Division III Greenville (IL) College where he led the Panthers to a 28-22 record and a berth in the 2009 NCCAA Victory Bowl.
WalshTed Karras Jr. is in his third year as the head coach at Walsh University and has led the Cavaliers to an 8-20 record.  Karras has compiled a 70-59 career mark in 12 seasons as a head coach and spent the previous seven years at Marian (IN) University, having led the Knights to a 12-1 record and an NAIA National Title in 2012.

Construction at Benson Stadium: As part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's HOF Village Project, Tom Benson Stadium will undergo substantial renovations throughout the 2015 season.  All fans (from both the home & visiting teams) must enter through Gates 7 & 8 located adjacent to McKinley High School.  All other entrances will be closed to the public.  Click here for more information and a map of the construction areas.

Seating: With construction underway at Benson Stadium, special seating arrangements have been made to accomadate the sizable group of fans from both Malone and Walsh. We ask that all Malone fans, parents and band members sit in sections 11, 12, 13 and 14. We have reserved the outer sections (9,10, 15 and 16) for the Walsh fans, parents and band. Malone Notes: The Pioneers suffered a 41-13 defeat at Northern Michigan University this past Saturday…The Wildcats took command early on, scoring three touchdowns within the first seven minutes of the contest…Over the course of the afternoon, Malone held a 23-16 advantage in first downs, nearly doubled the Wildcats in time of possession (37:58 to 22:02) and ran 90 offensive plays compared to 42 for NMU…However, Northern Michigan overcame the statistical discrepancy by producing several big plays and scoring 17 points off four Pioneer turnovers...Malone racked up 297 rushing yards against the Wildcats which marked the highest single-game total for Malone since piling up 434 yards in a win at Alderson Broaddus University in November of 2013…Malone converted on four of its five fourth-down attempts Saturday and is currently tied for second in the GLIAC in fourth-down conversion percentage, having been successful on 10 of 15 (67%) attempts this year.

Malone players to watch:  RB Matt Blasiole registered 143 rushing yards and a TD on 29 carries during Saturday's game, marking the third time this season that the sophomore has eclipsed 100 rushing yards…On the year, Blasiole has rushed for 652 yards on 118 carries (5.5 average)…His average of 108.7 yards per game ranks third in the GLIAC while his nine rushing touchdowns are the second most in the conference and 10th most in NCAA Division II…Blasiole is the first Pioneer to rush for nine TDs in a single season since Joseph Peters posted 10 rushing touchdowns in 2009…In his first collegiate start on Saturday, QB John Iacucci gained 55 rushing yards while completing 7 of 21 pass attempts…On the season, the redshirt freshman has appeared in five games and completed 19 of 41 passes for 192 yards and a TD…WRs Eian Elsass and Ashton Dulin are both averaging over 15 yards per catch this year…Elsass has pulled in 23 receptions for 358 yards and two scores while Dulin has snagged 14 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns…LB Ryan Weber tallied nine tackles on Saturday and currently ranks seventh in the GLIAC with 56 total stops on the year…DB Lucas Haupt follows with 45 total tackles, six pass break-ups and a forced fumble.

Walsh Notes: After dropping their first five games of the year, the Cavaliers notched a thrilling 39-38 double-overtime win at home against the University of Findlay last Saturday…Walsh fought back from a 24-14 third-quarter deficit, tying the game at 24-24 after engineering an 18-play, 84-yard drive that drained nearly eight minutes off the fourth-quarter clock…After each team scored touchdowns on their first overtime possessions, Findlay pulled ahead on a one-yard TD run at the start of the second OT…Walsh scored on a 25-yard screen pass and then secured the dramatic victory by executing a successful two-point conversion pass attempt …The contest marked the third overtime game of the season for the Cavs as each of their first three home games have been tied at the end of regulation…Although the Walsh defense yielded 328 rushing yards last week, the Cavs limited the Oilers to a season-low 147 passing yards…The Cavs have surrendered the fourth-fewest passing yards in the GLIAC this year (206.8 yards per game) and have tallied a total of 16 sacks on the season.

Walsh players to watch: QB Reid Worstell threw for 247 yards and two scores last week against the Oilers…On the season, the redshirt freshman has completed 72 of 124 pass attempts (58.1%) for 888 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions….RB Aaron Male, who picked up 124 yards on 15 carries last week (8.3 average), ranks sixth in the GLIAC in rushing, having picked up 555 yards on 93 attempts…Three different Cavalier WRs have surpassed 20 catches this season, led by Matt Matsuka, who has 27 grabs on the year for 405 yards…Matuska has also made an impact on special teams as he ranks fifth in the conference with an average of 25.6 yards on his 10 kickoff returns...K Michael Dudics has made six of seven field goals and all 13 of his extra points this season…LB Nicholas King ranks second in the GLIAC in total tackles with 65…King has also posted four tackles for loss with two sacks and a fumble recovery…DE Alex Jones, who has 35 total tackles on the season, ranks second in the conference with five sacks…Jones has a total of eight tackles for loss with a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries…DB CJ Chatman shares the GLIAC lead in interceptions with three.
