Match ResultsSquaring off against yet another outstanding Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponent, the Malone University men's tennis team lost a 9-0 conference contest to visiting Tiffin University at the Green Tennis Club in Green, Ohio on Saturday evening.
With the loss, Malone dropped to 3-14 on the year and to 1-7 in the GLIAC while the Dragons, with the win, improved to 12-9 overall and to 5-3 in the conference.
In singles, two Pioneers won five games each as
Steffan Dwarkasingh, at #2, lost by the score of 6-2, 6-3 and
Seth Byrd, at #5, fell 7-5, 6-0.
In doubles action, the #1 unit of
Puneet Sharma and Dwarkasingh, and the #2 squad of
Youssef ElSonbaty and
Brett Krejci battled to a pair of tough 8-4 losses.
Malone will close out its 2013-14 home schedule tomorrow (Sunday) by hosting the University of Findlay in a 12:00 p.m. match.
