The Malone University men's tennis team lost to local and GLIAC rival Walsh University 9-0 in a home contest Saturday evening at the Green Tennis Club in Green, Ohio.

With the loss, the Pioneers fell to 3-8 overall on the year and to 1-3 in the conference while the Cavaliers improved to 9-5 overall and to 2-1 in GLIAC play.

For Malone, Youssef ElSonbaty gave a valiant effort in a tough two-set loss at #1 singles as he won eight total games but lost 6-2, 7-6.

Vladyslav Dyenyezhka, at #6 singles, also posted an impressive battle in a very close loss as he fell by the score of 2-6, 7-5, 1-0.

In doubles, the #2 doubles unit of Steffan Dwarkasingh and Trevor Bowers won the most Pioneer doubles games but lost by an 8-3 count.

Malone will next compete on Saturday, March 29th at GLIAC opponent Ferris State University (MI) in an 11:00 a.m. match.
