The Malone University men's tennis team posted its first victory of the season on Friday with a 6-2 home win over non-conference opponent Franciscan University at the Green Tennis Club in Green, Ohio.

With the win, Malone improved to 1-5 on the season overall while Franciscan dropped to 1-5.

The final contest of the overall match, the #6 singles contest with Vladyslav Dyenyezhka competing for Malone, went unfinished as the courts became unavailable just as this contest was about to start.

Singles winners for Malone included Youssef ElSonbaty (#1), Steffan Dwarkasingh (#2), Puneet Sharma (#4) and Scott Glasgow (#5).

ElSonbaty and Sharma also picked up a win at #1 doubles while Trevor Bowers and Brett Krejci collected a victory at #3 doubles.

Malone will next compete in four matches during their spring break trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina March 3-7.
