Match Results

The Malone University men's tennis team, competing in its first conference match of the season, lost a home match to GLIAC opponent Lake Superior State University (MI) on Friday, at the Green Tennis Club in Green, Ohio, by the score of 9-0.

With the loss, Malone fell to 0-4 in the conference and to 0-1 in the GLIAC while the Lakers improved to 2-6 overall and to 1-0 in GLIAC play.

While no Pioneer was able to tally a victory in the match, the #3 doubles tandem of Trevor Bowers and Brett Krejci came the closest in an extremely tight 9-8 loss to their opponents.

In singles, Bowers was in another nail-biter as he fell by the slim margin of 7-5, 7-5 at #2 singles.

Malone will be quickly back in action tomorrow (Saturday) when the team hosts Michigan Tech University in a 5:00 p.m. match, again at the Green Tennis Club.
