The Malone University men's tennis team squared off against GLIAC powerhouse Northwood University (MI) in a home match on Saturday afternoon at the Towpath Racquet Club in Akron, Ohio and lost the contest 9-0. With the loss, Malone fell to 8-16 overall and to 1-9 in the GLIAC while Northwood improved to 11-4 overall and to a still-perfect 9-0 in GLIAC play.
Nate Davis, playing at #2 singles, battled to a tough 6-2, 7-6 loss and, teaming with
Youssef ElSonbaty at #1 doubles, also gave their opponents a solid match in an 8-5 setback.
Malone will close out its regular season with a home match against Wayne State University (MI) tomorrow (Sunday) in a 12:00 p.m. contest. If played outdoors (depending on the weather), the match will be held at the Harvard Courts in Canton (behind the Stark County North Branch Library) on 25th St. NW near campus. If played indoors, it will be held at the Green Tennis Club in Green, Ohio.
